For day traders the key  word is VOLATILITY.

When a market is trading with high volatility it means it’s moving with large price swings.

Low volatility means it’s trading in a tight range.

Day trading without high volatility is like watching paint dry. And it’s very difficult to make any money.

On the other hand a good trader with a highly volatile market can jump in at the right time and ride the big price swings to profitability.
